[MEDIA] thinking Trump and the GOP will be "better" for the economy in general has been one of the most "i feel like i am taking crazy pills" thing in my lifetime. against all evidence that republicans are seen as "good" on the economy will never make sense to me. ever.

I get laughing at the dems, they went away from all things they started to do right at the beginning and turned to the worst shit on top of the genocide. Somehow ran a worse campaign than Hilary fucking Clinton… But there is also a lot of people who are very scared of what’s to come, particularly women. I can’t bring myself to laugh at it personally due to that.

Donating money to families trying to flee Gaza does more good than casting a vote in this election.

I expect a lot of "didn't think they'd eat my face" moments over the next few years. Regan level deregulation leading to more preventable deaths seems likely. I don't think I can handle it the same way I did before, spent too much time on twitter/the news, sat with a low level anxiety the entire time thinking KNOWING would help. I think this time I need to be more active in local politics, find places to help, and not put time into reading about what Trumps doing every moment. It was so unhealthy and I can't live like that again.

do they care about the policy? his policies should piss off most of them right now anyway. guess the question is does the coalition exist without this weird cult of personality?

My biggest doomer post: For as cringe as some of it was, after 2016 the resistance lib stuff got people involved got people somewhat engaged. There's a collective relief when he lost in 2020. After a GLOBAL PANDEMIC! and all the rest that we saw, there was a "fuck thank god that's over." And yet here we predictably are after the siren warnings about this very thing happening were being screamed for 4 years. No accountability. Trying to do the whole bullshit "we need a strong GOP party at the table" (which gives people the permission to just vote for them!). All shit so many of us said over and over again in this thread. On top of the party in power turning their entire backs on anyone remotely close to the left and saying they didn't want our vote. I fear, actively, a collective shrug of apathy after this. After what we saw the Biden admin do and the non existent "case" the Harris campaign ran on? I could see blue states hunkering down in a bubble and/or being actively punished by the federal government. Dunno, that seems like a perfect cocktail of how we move further and further toward far right wing ...

A lot of younger guys are cooked. So much of the media is a cesspool of conservative/sigma mentality, making it easy to dismiss everything because you see the same propaganda in ten different 20-second clips on social media.
