Went to some Scandinavian place called Ørkenoy today and they had not only a delicious rye saison but also like cheapest beer prices of any brewery I’ve seen. $5 for 12 oz and $7 for 17oz is a steal in 2021

Revision started distributing a non-IPA to California, it’s a red ale and really yummy. Leans malty rather than hoppy!

It's a total non-story, both in subject matter and importance. The guy engaged in legal, consensual activities, and frankly he's not a significant political figure (he has virtually no shot at winning a council seat). It's just the Post hunting for clicks with a salacious photo. I'd say they should be ashamed, but I don't think shame is an emotion the Post knows how to feel.

Imagine having hundreds of thousands to pump into the stock market while I’m searching for courthouse openings to marry my girlfriend so I can finally have health insurance. What a country.

since CNN won't add the additional context that makes this bill extra spicy, let me: Orbán, Hungary's PM, and his FIDESZ party currents holds 2/3rds of the Parliament seats, basically letting him rule almost like a dictator. To combat this, *all the opposition parties* in Hungary have banded together to form a party that only exists to oust Orbán* because that's the only way for them to get the numbers. This party spans the gamut from the far left to the extreme far right. Now, this law could've passed without any help from the outside parties, but the far right party just couldn't help themselves and also voted for this bill putting their coalition on thin ice -- which is precisely why this bill was put on the Parliament floor in the first place. * Due to a change in voting laws, essentially introducing a winner takes all system not unlike the US, it is unviable to win against FIDESZ in any other way, especially not if you want control of the Parliament.

First day back serving tables in awhile...no masks needed for vaxxd employees, no masks required for customers (honor system for vaxxd customers)... We were on a 2hr wait, not one guest had a mask the entire shift, yet probably 50% of our staff is masked because they’re not vaxxd, including probably closer to 80% of the back of house staff. This Delta variant is going to really fuck up our population, bc there’s literally no way all these guests coming in are vaxxd when not even half our staff is vaxxd.

The craziest thing is that they’ve trained people so well in those industries to accept it that their reaction to complaints about labor and wages is basically “everyone has to start at the bottom! It’s a badge of honor to get shit on as a Production Assistant! Log in over 500 hours on various union productions as a PA and maybe they’ll let you be a 2nd 2nd AD. Maybe. See you in a decade maybe!”

This is so true it hurts. I got out of the media industry a couple years ago here in Michigan because I was getting tired of the inconsistency, the low pay, and the subsequent inability to provide for my family. So instead I took a job I hate, have been doing this for two years, feel awful, and have been working toward making a move out of state to potentially find work in my former field. The problem I keep running into is that I’ll apply for jobs whose recruiting departments reach out to me to say they love my resume, but my salary requirements are too high. Take, for example, the job of Traffic Coordinator for an advertising agency wherein you’re in charge of ingesting media, transcoding and exporting, scheduling air dates and times for advertising spots for major networks and companies and...they want to pay you $30,000. In California. It’s nuts.

My employer said they didn't have time to make a change on such short notice, but gave us an extra vacation day to use later in the year at our discretion, and confirmed we would celebrate it normally next year. Thought that was reasonable.

Yeah, here in IL, Pritzker made the announcement that all state employees had today off at 5:15PM yesterday evening. Cool news, but it gave us no time to get the word out to our members and resulted in me being on the phone until 9pm lol
