Barresi replied to the thread Movie Springsteen: Deliver Me From Nowhere (Scott Cooper, October 24, 2025).I agree, he definitely needed to figure into the story somehow, but I think there were more creative options than flashbacks that felt a little too on the nose. Oct 28, 2025 at 11:23 AM

Barresi liked Sean Murphy's post in the thread Movie Springsteen: Deliver Me From Nowhere (Scott Cooper, October 24, 2025).Its hard to tell any story about bruce and not touch on the relationship with his father but, yes, the flashback stuff was very easily the worst stuff in this. Honestly even the very final scene with his dad felt weird. also lol, such a silly nitpick, but during that scene when he was like "ive never sat on your lap before" made me think of the lyrics to my hometown Oct 28, 2025 at 11:21 AM Oct 28, 2025 at 11:21 AM

Barresi replied to the thread Movie Springsteen: Deliver Me From Nowhere (Scott Cooper, October 24, 2025).I’d consider myself an absolute diehard, and thought this was fine. I don’t think there’s really a delineation point based on how well you know Bruce’s work, it really comes down to how the material is presented. All of the flashback stuff was tough to get through. Honestly think there’s a pretty cool 90-minute movie in there somewhere, but Cooper could not resist I guess the more “Walk Hard” tendencies. Oct 28, 2025 at 10:29 AM

Barresi liked Sean Murphy's post in the thread Movie Springsteen: Deliver Me From Nowhere (Scott Cooper, October 24, 2025).the comments in the OG Bruce thread about the female characters made me remember that right at the end, as he's walking off stage to see his mom you can see down the hallway blurred out a woman with like, noticeably red hair and i wondered if that was coincidence or if that was meant to reference Patti. completely inconsequential to the film, but there were a few moments in this that felt like little nods to people who know bruce's story already. Barresi liked Sean Murphy's post in the thread Movie Springsteen: Deliver Me From Nowhere (Scott Cooper, October 24, 2025)."I know it probably sounds like I hated this movie, but I didn’t. It was fine. I’m a little too familiar with the source material for me to just be at ease watching it, and although there were scenes that made me roll my eyes, I was genuinely moved on occasion as well." perfectly said lol, my exact feelings. thought this was just exactly fine. Probably not super rewatchable, but i still enjoyed it. Oct 28, 2025 at 4:13 AM
