Her screams are so good, happy to see Kimmel bring her back on after all the attention the Knocked Loose performance got the show!

And yea really weird that Die With a Smile is on here outside of obviously because it's a smash hit song she's had recently. It's actually the first time I've fully listened to it, it's fine but not really doing anything special. Really fun album though, if I had to pick yea the last 3 songs are the weakest on it but they're not bad and Blade of Grass seems positioned as a decent closer.

Burials is great, definitely their last front to back consistent album so far. Of course there's only been 2 album since then but still!

Yea, second listen through and still really digging it. I think my main problem with Eternal Blue was as much as I think Courtney's clean vocals are great, for whatever reason from the structure of the songs or whatever else the songs with her cleans don't really stick out much to me. Her cleans work much more for me on this album, while keeping the heavy and uncleans which I still love as great as ever from them. Ride the Wave is the perfect example of that for me, so good.

Alright I got a couple more uninterrupted listens under my belt. Easily my AOTY so far, though the Anxious album is really the only other new album I've really liked. This clicked with me way better than Eternal Blue. Eternal Blue feels a little thin, or transitional, like, they wanted to do the heavy stuff and they wanted to have the soaring choruses, but maybe didn't know fully how to merge the two for a full album. This feels dense, less overall hook focused, but more varied and well thought out from a pacing standpoint. A really good mix of heavy tracks with more melodic ones and some in between sprinkled in. A Haven With Two Faces feels like the centerpiece here though. That is a monster of a track that throws back to their pre-EB stuff while still retaining their newfound love of atmosphere and impeccable melody.

Just finished it up, as someone who generally wouldn't say they love their past stuff, it's perfectly fine but nothing that I'd say super excites me, this album is their best material so far in terms of a full package. Glad they seem to be getting better with each release!
