AP_Punk attached a file to the thread Band Copeland.
I knew I had a screenshot of this old AP.net chat stored away in an obscure folder. Anyway, I finally found it and felt like sharing, lol.

Organizing some records and found this. This is the first vinyl I ever had in my collection. Yearssss before I even owned a record player. I got this at Warped Tour 2001, which was my very first Warped Tour experience.

Chris released a nearly hour-long Patreon-video about the album. can't wait to check that out! also, the Unscripted Moments podcast recently released a compilation episode containing interviews with band members and engineers about the album. here's the link for anyone who missed it.

Feels weird to say this about an album that's coming off of one of their longer absences, but it feels to me like a transitional album, kind of in the way Failed States did to me also - thinking their way through a new register they haven't quite mastered yet. It's not as killer as Victory Lap for me but now that Chris and Todd are over 50 there was always going to be change and this is not a bad direction for them to evolve in. Hope the next one's not another 7 years out. I continue to enjoy the Todd songs as being very much their own thing with their own special charm and that's no different here. I was half-expecting a Sulynn-led number...maybe next time!

Horror tends to be very thin on characters, but this film could have been twice as long in exploring these people. I didn't know anything about it going in, so other than the opening in the church I thought it was going to be a drama about building a safe community space for Black residents until it took the From Dusk Til Dawn turn. It's the best vampire movie in a long time but just calling it a vampire movie is a disservice. On the business side, it's great to see it doing so well after so much bad news at the box office. It's somewhat reductive to compare them, but there are obvious comparisons to Get Out, coming out at around the same point of the year and showing that there is a place for smart horror and social commentary. Just because Trump is President doesn't mean there isn't an ocean of people who can engage with themes and seeing people get eaten.
