The price is exactly why I'm holding back from the pre-order. Hah. Might toss it on my Christmas list.

Looks like it's just a new merch store plus EP Phone Home on vinyl? Pretty cool but not a release that I need-need so I'm'a hold off for now. I would have jumped on an Act Your Age or That's Business pressing immediately. Regardless, hopefully this means EP Phone Home will be up on streaming soon!

This is awesome, and I'd definitely say this puts them in play for next year. Curious to see where they might land in the line-up/schedule. My gut is telling me early evening on Radical/Rise or Rebel but I'm not sure if I'm overselling or underselling the draw.

Sugar just announced their reunion today. Just one song released and two shows in NYC and London. Bob Mould Reunites Sugar for New Song, Concerts It looks like more shows are possible, as Bob said this at the end of the article: ”I don’t want to get out too far in front of the skis, as they say,” he says. “People’s reactions will probably guide a lot of the possibilities in front of us, whether it’s more songs or more shows. All three of us are all in for whatever feels right. I just want to see if people are still interested.” Not a lock, but I think likely, at the point

[MEDIA] After sign-up I received an IG message that said: "ANNOUNCEMENT 10/15 @ 9:30am PT. We'll notify you as soon as it's live." Based on the image, I've got a feeling its some vinyl re-issues or a boxed set of some sort? A tour would be nice too, though. Haha.

Man I used to love being in front and being drenched in sweat after a show....now I can barely stand for a show that's more than 90 minutes (I wonder if these two things are related)

I've always been a "back of the middle of the crowd" guy and that's never changed. At certain shows I'll get closer to the front but that's usually in much smaller venues that aren't very packed. And proud to say that, even at 41, I'm still down for the full show. And I honestly find it harder to leave the house for just a single act (headliner or not) so I usually go for the full show regardless. But I also dig into any acts on the bill in advance to see if I like them or not. And I kinda fucking love it. I've found so many awesome new bands by looking at online ad mats for bands I like and checking out the openers.

Being an old head too I gotta rep the youth. I’ve seen some incredible opening acts I would have missed.

I think also younger people generally have more desire for barricade/to be close, while I have a panic attack once it starts filling up and always wind up near the back anyway

I was going to say, until recently, the only time I can ever remember seeing this was when Green Day played the same HOB here in a major underplay. It makes sense for underplays and the like but the "younger artist at a standard HOB" show thing has happened twice recently and it got me thinking if it was becoming more of a trend. And I'm getting the sense that it is. Yeah, this jives with what I was theorizing. And I mean... I definitely remember getting to shows early and wanting to be the first in line when I was in high school or whatever. But that was--like you said--an hour or so before doors. Not all day. That just seems like a silly waste of time and I've never understood the value in that.

I've seen that for a few arenas/stadiums but never for venues that are within city limits. In NYC, we have people already sleeping on the streets every night so I suppose you can't disallow camping (shrug).

Def seen it for arenas/arena acts (Taylor and Billie Eilish were big ones), but usually unless it's someone huge doing a major downplay or rabid fanbase I wouldn't really expect anyone camping out the day+ before the show at a HOB type venue.

Had the same experience at the Brooklyn Paramount! When I went to go see Snow Patrol, Belle & Sebastian, The Decemberists, Jack White, etc. there was NO line. Going to see Charli XCX, Inhaler and FLO....stood in a 30 min line.

Sleep Token at red rocks had a 5am line for like 7pm doors and when I got there at 6 (which I'd done before for red rocks), it was quite a line and we ended up being pretty far back, which is fine for that venue though. I also live next door to a concert venue and i can 100% tell if it's a gen z show if people are lining up early in the the day, and if hours before showtime, the line wraps my street. Sold out shows that have a fan base in their 30's? There's never a line. I also don't think that young people realize that with general admission in a concert hall, just because you get in first, you're not going to remain first. People will come in late, crowds will merge, you will have to fight hard to save your place in a wide open concert floor. It's not like a festival where you can hug the railing. Also, for a good venue, you can see anywhere, the sound is better further back etc. It's a habit I've never understood. EDIT - The extreme earliness i mean, like hours before doors. As a teenager we'd always be on time, MAYBE an hour early.

HOB is the only spot I've seen it in around here... Which is partially why I asked! This is for Gigi Perez and the show is mostly all sold out (still a few balcony). I'm guessing it has more to do with the veracity of the fanbase more than the overall "size" of the artist.

Has anybody else's local venues started posting "camping policies" the day ahead of certain shows? I've seen this a few times recently for the Boston HOB. It's one of those things I just never think about but... Apparently it's a problem?
