Their album from 2023 is very good.

The Iron Roses absolutely rip! Super fun, anthemic pop-punk with some upstrokes here or there. Check out the LP. It's great! And please take this in the right spirit but... They actually go by Natasha now and have made it really clear that they don't want to be referred to as Nathan anymore. (Not accusing you of anything just making sure you're informed!)

Turns out there was a misunderstanding and they got Richard Stamos instead

One of the best punk single show lineups I've seen in recent memory

It's pretty stellar! The Boston date is the same but slotting in H2O for the Suicide Machines and... Stoked as I am that I'm going to Riot Fest I really kinda wish the Souls date was like, 1-2 days earlier or a week later so I could go. LOL

I'm assuming it'll be packed in a similar way to NOFX last year, MGK in 2021, and Incubus for 2019. But I'd imagine not everyone will stay for the entire set. I'm guessing you see a lot of people dipping in and out because of everything else going on. My plan is to watch the first bit of Trio, catch about 30 minutes of Al, and then pop over for the last half of Stiff Little Fingers. This is definitely an evening where that Deluxe VIP viewing area is going to come in super handy. Some of that depends on what the band is opting to consider their "punk roots." Supposedly the WWYF set list will skew heavily toward Enema, TOYP&J, and S/T. There's a very real scenario where they're talking about cuts from Enema or TOYP&J which... Doesn't hold water for me. But it's also not inaccurate to your average fan, y'know? Excited to see the set list, though! And I'd imagine Four Chord might be a good representation of what we wind up getting. I guess I'll just not-so-secretly hope we can get "Pathetic" or "Josie" at a minimum. Haha. I'd say "Apple Shampoo" or "Lemmings" but I don't want to push it.
Aug 14, 2025 at 8:55 AMIf they actually do all of that shit... Their social media is gonna be real fun leading up to the festival.

so they are in fact going to make a meal out of this, haha John Stamos Breaks His Silence on Riot Fest. Will He Or Won’t He?

I can’t wait until Blink starts this tour so I can see what they are playing. A Kerang article when the tour got announced said the press release mentioned this tour would lean into their punk roots. I didn’t take much stock in that at the time of course. But with Travis’s tech saying they are putting together a setlist with some songs they haven’t played in a long time, my hopes are starting to get up. At least we have plenty of shows before Riot to know whether I should be extra excited or not though!

Yeah, I'd consider him a headliner, his crowd's going to be not much smaller than Blink's which is why I'm opting for Knocked Loose.

Does everyone think that Weird Al’s crowd is going to be huge or am I just over estimating? I would like to stay for as much Alkaline Trio as possible and maybe sneak off for a few songs of Stiff Little Fingers, but I’m worried about the crowd being a pain to get through.

damn, someone else got selected with a name i submitted in the porta-potty contest, was hoping to score free ones since i need to go on the cheap this year. on top that, my yearly air bnb host informing me she doesnt have any rooms left, my ability to go to riot is shrinking daily, but its my own fault for starting to plan so late now that im back from my 40th bday trip.. "shudder to stink" was my submission.

This holds up looking at recent set lists... But the one advantage to that this time around is that the new album actually kinda slaps. Haha. "Who'll Stand With Us?" and "Chesterfields & Aftershave" are both stone cold bangers and "The Big Man" is just pure concentrated fun (assuming you're like me and enjoy Fletcher from Pennywise lore LOL).

Check out the hits from Youth and you’ll have a good time. Those are the songs that will get the biggest reaction at a festival

I think DKM always put on a good show. My biggest problem with their sets is that they usually play a lot from their newest album when there are older songs I would love to see instead. But if you are going in without really caring what they are going to be playing, you should have a great time.

I've seen Dropkick twice this year for the first time in awhile and both times were great. At first I was hesitant that it would be way off without Al but still great. Ken is a really good frontman. I would say all the albums through Meanest of Times are solid all the way through albeit probably some filler tracks. They mostly played the new album + the hits when I saw them Sunday These are all good places to start ^ Citizen will probably play mostly Youth/Dogs/Glass songs + Jet but Everybody Is Going To Heaven I think is their best and they are doing it in full a couple weeks later so they might dust off one or two at Riot. Although 30 mins is really short so probably not

It was pretty perfectly curated! That particular radio station had a real nice way about the shows they put together... They had one a few years before that where they had Silversun Pickups, Gogol Bordello, Matt & Kim, Against Me!, and Henry Clay People on an outdoor stage during the day and then Metric, Nada Surf, and Rogue Wave inside a club at night. It was a super fun day.

That is an insane lineup. I’m jealous you got to see that! I was too optimistic that they’d reunite for some shows this year since it’s the 30th anniversary of their first album…

Backing this post hard. I was only able to see them once, back in like, 2009 at a smaller radio festival in my area... Death Cab for Cutie, Presidents of the United States of America, Bob Mould, and Amanda Palmer. It was a stellar line-up and POTUSA stole the show. Super great live band. I get why they haven't reunited but I would love for that to happen, hah.
