Something a bit more serious, but I saw a post on Reddit recently for a NYT article about Sheikh Mansour, who owns Man City. Essentially, he is funding and providing weapons for a paramilitary group that is committing a massacre in Sudan and has provoked a civil war. There were Sudanese people in the comments talking about what has happened. It has resulted in the estimated deaths of over 500,000 children, and the displacement of over 8.5 million people alongside 3.5m who have had to flee the country. https://www.nytimes.com/2025/06/29/world/middleeast/emirates-manchester-city-soccer-sudan.html Obviously it’s hard because we can’t control who owns our clubs, but it’s a reminder of how truly evil these people can be, and why they shouldn’t be defended.

Feel like this has been asked before, but anyone got much experience with retro handhelds that seem to be popping up all over? Fancy getting one, but not sure where to start. One keeps getting advertised on Facebook, £40 and comes with 15,000 games, but seems a bit sus/ like junk from China rebranded. Would ideally like one preloaded with games, as don't fancy messing with emulators and downloads and things.

First time watching Coventry this season. Lampard working wonders for them thus far by the looks of the table. I'll be forever grateful for THAT Palace game, even if it wasn't that specific result which "saved" us in the end. Lampard will deserve a chance if he gets Coventry up, but I don't think he'll last in the top flight as a coach.

I feel like this season has been horrendous for FPL generally. So many objectively good or sensible decisions just fail to pay off, still hard to know or predict which teams are good or not. Defensive contributions have had a huge impact too, and I've really struggled to get my head around them.
