    Silverstein will release their new album, A Beautiful Place To Drown, on March 6th. Today they’ve debuted the lead single “Infinite” which features Underoath’s Aaron Gillespie. They’ve also announced some new tour dates, and pre-orders for the album are now up.

    Like this one and the last one. Cool too see them continuing to shift back to a less-post-hardcore sound (IMO). I'll be really curious to hear the track with Pierre from Simple Plan on it.

    Reading you made me remember that they actually opened for Simple Plan on one of their arena tours back in the day. I wonder how their audience reacted and what their setlist was like.

    I know Shane has talked about that tour on his podcast before, but I'm suddenly drawing a blank on how he reflected on it. Tour opportunities and decisions with bands outside their scene are a subject he likes to chat about with guests.

    I remember him tlaking about opening for Avril in Japan, and how they had to decide if they just wanted to play their typical Silverstein songs, or curate their setlist to be more poppy.

    Well shit, Silverstein do modern rock very well. I've always far preferred the way heavier side of their sound over the lighter, more melodic stuff ("Discovering The Waterfront" notwithstanding), but this rips. I won't even mind if the rest of the album is mostly like this because this is so good. Those little screamy touches are fucking sweet and Aaron's vocals make a perfect tag team with Shane's.

    Also, the Pierre Bouvier guest spot piques my interest, but I really, really wanna hear that Princess Nokia collab. She's awesome and a huge heavy music fan so I wanna see what she does.

    Their last LP, Dead Reflection, might legitimately be their best. It got me back into them and their back catalogue after not really listening since Discovering the Waterfront. I would start there and work your way back.

    If anyone hasn't listened to Silverstein since the ASITS days I recommend listening to This is How The Wind Shifts and
    Dead Reflection. They're fantastic.
