I’m assuming die of laughter? No Scrubs put a huge smile on my face.

man all of these songs are songs that have been covered like a trillllllion times.

with that said their Happy Together, Mr Blue Sky, stand by me sound quite nice... even if every one of these covers are being played as straight as straight can be

I just wish they covered these songs in the style of old Weezer. You know, fuzzy distorted guitars.

The Weezer Christmas EP is where it’s at.

I don't know why they decided to do these songs as blandly as possible. Seems like a strange decision.

It's like listening to Rivers do studio recorded karaoke, if that's your thing.

No Scrubs was my highlight too. The rest were straight forward covers with Rivers delightful voice

I really enjoyed the whole thing. Nice little surprise to hold us over until the Black Album.

Happy Together was my favorite I think. Billie Jean was a no go for me though.

That bothered me that most the songs barely deviated from the original.

There’s a tiny bit of it. The bridge of No Scrubs, for example.

Same problem I have with their Africa cover, it's just so safe. Why would I listen to any of these instead of the original?

I just wish they put a Weezer vibe on it. More crunchy guitars instead of making a copy and paste versions of the songs.

it's a fun cover album. i don't understand the hate i've seen for it on social media. i know it's weezer and people will always argue about whatever they put out but there's like a weird smugness looking down on this one

its because there’s very little originality or creativity in what they did. It’s mediocre and boring. If I want to hear those songs I’ll listen to the original not a second rate version.
