Copeland’s new song, “Night Figures,” can be streamed below via Billboard. The band’s also announced some new tour dates and there’s some more information on the new album, and its themes, up on their website:

“We wanted to take all of the elements that made up our sound in the past and push those elements farther,” Aaron says. “So rock becomes more rock than we’ve been in the past. If we’ve taken elements of symphonic tones, let’s now be very symphonic. When we’re being electronic, be very electronic. We wanted to emphasize each element of sound harder, like an exaggerated version of Copeland’s sound. We could be each thing individually by pushing each facet of our art in a more focused way.”

Great song, but, this song is close to two years old. Buddy of mine went to their last tour and had VIP which they provided two song EP, one of them being Night Verses. Doesn't even sound like it was changed at all.

Nonetheless it's Copeland and it's great and it's pre ordered and I'll be going quite a distance to the show and I'm pumped and and and :-)

we're all a bunch of weirdos on a quest to belong Prestigious

I mean it wasn't a widely released song so I'm cool with them including it, especially if they felt it fit the mood, vibe and sequencing. I basically have blind faith in these guys at this point.

i think the reason they didnt really distribute it widely is because they planned to include it on their next album. im ok with it, seeing as how it was kind of hard to find online (not impossible but it was scrubbed from youtube and a lot of other sites) and most people havent heard it

I like when Copeland rocks out. I know I'm probably in the minority here but I'd take some next level In Motion if possible.

  12. They haven’t been that kinda band, if they ever really were, in a very very very long time.

I love everything Copeland does, but in motion is still my favorite record.

Read the write up on their site! It sounds like they are trying to push every variation of their sound to the next level. Copeland on steroids if you will. It is exactly what I want from these guys and I know I say this in every Copeland post but I have a feeling this will an AOTY contender just based on the 2 songs, the write up, ([and Jason's comment :)].

In Motion might be my least favorite Copeland record, all things considered. It's still great, but everything from ESR has been next level, and somehow more next level with each release.

It's good but Beneath the Medicine Tree is by far my favorite.

Also its a shame their cover EP isn't on Spotify.

  18. I love the three record run from In Motion through YAMS, but it probably depends on the day as to which one is my "favorite."

I have a lot of great memories of the band from Medicine to Sunshine. I know the band isn’t really for me anymore so I’m happy others have embraced their other albums.
