The All-American Rejects have shared the demo for “Stay.” The song was recorded during the When the World Comes Down sessions.

As It Came From The Abyss (Volume 1), the first in a new compilation LP series curated by Dark Operative, draws closer to release, today Alternative Press debuts THE ALL-AMERICAN REJECTS’ “Stay” demo.
The track was written while the band were composing their third full-length, 2008’s When The World Comes Down, but never saw the light of day until now.

“Whenever we finish a record we’re always sitting on a pile of demos that never made it to the studio stage for whatever reason,” relays guitarist Mike Kennerty. “‘Stay’ is one of those songs that didn’t make the cut at the time [around 2008], but is a solid, sweet little tune in retrospect. We hope folks enjoy this time capsule!”

It Came From The Abyss (Volume 1) features an A side that highlights bands that encapsulate the best that the underground metal and hardcore genres have to offer, while the B side showcases some of the label’s favorite instrumental, goth, indie, emo, and pop outfits of the past, present, and future.
The program encapsulates a range of covers (POWER TRIP’s take on Prong, THE DILLINGER ESCAPE PLAN channeling Black Flag, and HIGHNESS turning in a Rorschach cover that conjures The Cure’s Pornography album), first-time exclusives (the aforementioned demo track from THE ALL-AMERICAN REJECTS, a previously unheard BLEACH EVERYTHING track, and a brand new song from THIS WILL DESTROY YOU), unearthed/long out of print material (CHRISTIE FRONT DRIVE’s “Bag,” DOOMRIDERS’ “Hell Roaring,” and an INTEGRITY track from their split with Gehenna), songs previously only issued in Europe (IRON REAGAN, BLACK MARE), and a previously-unheard demo version of GRAVE PLEASURES’ “Doomsday Rainbow.”

It Came From The Abyss (Volume 1) will be released August 10th digitally and on limited-edition vinyl featuring gatefold packaging highlighting the art of Matt Stikker plus all liner notes, band photos, and band info.
