Sounds like they're going for that Andrew McMahon crossover appeal.

 

This band is still puttin' out quality pop-punk-rock. Gotta love these dudes.

Missing that raw black lines sound but I get it didn't really land with their core fan base.

 

My exact thoughts. This song sounds like Mayday Parade are Mayday Parading. Wish they had explored the Black Lines sound more.

 

Yeah I’m glad they explored that side of themselves but this is really the sort of thing I listen to Mayday for.

 

I agree with both of you, guys. Even if I'm a fan of this more pop-oriented sound and I'm really diggin' this new track, I thought Black Lines was, if not their best record to date, surely one of the finest collections of songs this band has ever crafted. I love how they experimented with genres while maintaining their trademark characteristics.

 

Black Lines is good if I have a Mayday Parade day. It is something a little different when listening to all of their albums back-to-back.

 

Used to love this band years ago but I really grew out of them. Haven’t listened to them in years.

This song is a banger. Was surprised when I got a spotify email about new mayday parade, and I was quite pleasantly surprised.

 

Tbh, I can't hate on this song. Actually going to listen to them today for the first time in forever.

 

There's 2 songs (off the top of my head) that sound like they could be on Black Lines. Record is very good. A lot of slower songs like this, too.

 

Which album would you say it reminds you of the most?
