    Deadline:

Apple just won an auction for world screen rights to Songwriter, the Murray Cummings-directed documentary that shows singer Ed Sheeran as he finds the handle on writing and performing his distinctive songs. Deal is low to mid-seven figures for world rights, and Apple will make it an event release that includes a theatrical component along with release on Apple’s multiple platforms.

Depending on the order of the 7 digits, the money should easily be made back.

I have never thought of Ed Sheeran as “distinctive” in any way shape or form

  5. Weird. Cause he is. One of the most sought after names in music.

100% agree, he’s an easily consumable watered down version of a singer songwriter that makes generic music

and theres thousands of singer-songwriters that barely get any recognition that make better music. Making it as big as Ed is a lucky crapshoot and being in the right place at the right time.

Could not disagree more. That’s why there’s literally only a handful of people alive that can do what he does. Y’all underestimate how hard it is to make songs as popular as this dude does.
