    The opening concert featuring Toby Keith and Three Doors Down was broadly similar to concerts put on for Obama in 2009 and Bush in 2005 — except for the cost and size.

    Bush’s inaugural committee spent $2.5 million on its concert on the National Mall. Obama’s concert had 10,000 ticketed seats — twice the size of Trump’s — and cost less than $5 million, said Kerrigan, and was produced at a high enough level that HBO paid for the rights to telecast it.

    “I couldn’t tell you how we possibly could have spent $25 million on a concert,” said Kerrigan.

    My favorite part of the last few weeks of Crooked Media podcasts has been Dan Pfeiffer pointing out every time Trump pays "sticker price" on whatever he's handling. President Deals, ladies and gentlemen!

    What a shock - a government priding themselves on nickel and diming social services and cutting costs overspent on something that doesn't do a lick for the public good.

    Maybe they were so desperate to get 3 Doors Down offstage they just kept throwing money at them, 25 million seems light when your ears are in that much danger.

    Maybe they paid a ton of extras to be crowd filler so it could be the "biggest crowd ever" and they all decided not to show? Would that explain how Trump thinks it was the biggest crowd ever yet it's obviously not?
