This week sees new releases from AFI, John Mayer, Foxygen, and As It Is. That AFI album continues to grow on me even if I find some of the lyrics (barking in the wrong key?) strange. If you hit read more you can see all the releases we have in our calendar for the week. Hit the quote bubble to access our forums and talk about what came out today, what albums you picked up, and to make mention of anything we may have missed.

AFI – AFI (The Blood Album)
Abigail Lapell – Hide Nor Hair
    As It Is – Okay
    Austra – Future Politics
    Cherry Glazerr – Apocalipstick
    Foxygen – Hang
Joan of Arc – He’s Got The Whole This Land Is Your Land In His Hands
John Mayer – The Search for Everything (Wave One)
Kid Koala – Music To Draw To: Satellite
    Mick Harvey – Intoxicated Women
Shintaro Sakamoto – Love If Possible

    Tim Cohen – Luck Man
William Basinski – A Shadow In Time

Frank Carter&Rattlesnakes - Modern Ruin! I love how he still sounds as he was in gallows but at the same time mixing it with that Arctic Monkeys kinda style at some songs.

Some records that haven't been mentioned that I'll check out.

    Austra - Future Politics

Heat - Overnight (I've been told it's like heavy 80's influenced chilled rock. Probably will hate it but it's Topshelf so I will give it a spin.)

    The Proper Ornaments - Foxhole

Can't wait to jam the new AFI. Loved the early singles. Hoping As It Is came through with a solid sophomore effort as well. Their first was a decent throwback to that mid-00s Drive-Thru Records sound, eager to see what they came up with this time.

Closer is everything I wanted it to be.

"I talk too much and that's an issue"
"Now you're looking pretty but you are so far"
"Pull me closer as we stand against the Rover that I know they can't afford"
"Brush that stress right off your shoulder"
"Pull the sheets right off the corner of the notebook that you stole" (YES THIS IS REAL)
"From your friends way back in Boulder"
"Play that blink 182 song that we played to death in Tuscon"
