Figured this album should get its own thread, with the album coming out this Friday.

Bad Frequencies is the 6th album by Hawthorne Heights, and first under Pure Noise records. Prior to the release of the album, there have been four songs released.

REVIEW: Hawthorne Heights mix past and present on 'Bad Frequencies'

not to be an ass because i am legitimately curious: what exactly is it that you all see in this band? i decided to listen to a few of their newer tracks from the EPs and albums and i just dont really get it. still really dislike JTs vocals and the lyrics dont really do much for me. the music is just ok but there were a few songs where they tried some different things that were neat. is it nostalgia? do they just scratch that itch for you? are they a guilty pleasure?

 

It’s a combination of things for me personally. I actually like JT’s vocals, and the earnest effort the band puts into their music and songs. I just kind of connect with songs of theirs, and they are also good at writing hooks (in my opinion of course) and can be be very catchy and emotional in their music. They are genuine with their music as wel, they make the kind of music they like and don’t try to break into the new trends, which is very respectable. The band members themselves are also pretty genuine to their fan base; always reaching out to them, supporting love and equality and positivity, taking time to respond to their fans and interact with them.

That’s my side and take on it, hope that clarifies at least from me.

I caught their set at amnesia rockfest in 2016 after a decade of not listening to them but I considered myself a fan afterwards just bc of how much fun they were but they were also super tight.

 

Monday for me

 

Only caught these guys at Warped last summer since no one in Buffalo books them, but they were fun. The new album is some of my favorite stuff they've released in a while, too.

 

I'll check this out on Friday just for you Kevo.
