always a little surprised when another 4/20 rolls around. I've been smoking and celebrating almost every year since 2013ish I think. so I guess it's been over ten years haha maybe a weird thing to say but weed changed my life. I like to think for the better, though of course it's also had some negative effects on me over time. but in the beginning, it totally shifted my thinking patterns and pushed me to change my behavior, and over time - in a way I'm not sure is really common with smokers - offered me a place of stillness and reflection whereas alcohol and/or even my own sober brain could send me spiraling.

One thing I miss the most is the Karma system. One of my favorite things they did in 3/NV. Lots of fun getting randomly attacked by the regulators or talon depending on your good/evil status.

Early impressions: Better than my first listen of Midnights but very one note. Missing a new level, which means the over exposure becomes a factor and it just feels … ok? And a little lacking. the Starting Line reference rules If you told me this was a bunch of bsides or (fake) versions of the vault tracks I’d believe you. this roll out has bugged me and felt exploitative if I was a consultant for a career (lol no one cares what I think at this level) .. I’d recommend a break, a reset, and work on the songs until they don’t feel like lesser versions of what you’ve don’t before

Prestige is running a 3000 capacity arena here in July. It’s a crazy step for an indie company to take. They routinely sell 700-800 for their bigger events here so 3000 would be wild. Seems mighty hasty but I hope they pull it off. It would be pretty surprising if they could draw more people here than some AEW shows have been drawing lol

Yeah, last night was doors at 6, show at 7, SLS on around 9:55 and done at 11:00. They've refined the setlist a little bit from the first few shows (dropping the Killers cover for "Beer and NyQuil" and moving "Clean Up Crew" to the penultimate spot are both great moves) and they seemed like they were having a lot of fun. I miss them having an actual bassist on stage though. I get why they do it, but backing tracks for bass is a pet peeve of mine [points at username].
