I’m not talkin about theory though. I think most people - including teachers! (Source: married to one) - recognize or at least can feel that their money doesn’t go as far as it used to, and that their careers get them less relative to what people in those same careers could accomplish in decades past. My granddad was making $31 an hour as a mechanic at an auto plant in Dayton OH in the late 90s before he retired. That company isn’t there anymore, and the (post-NAFTA, non-Union) jobs now in that plant pay far less than that 30 years later. Meanwhile, good homes in that area are way more expensive than they were in the 90s. That’s a fact that makes people feel bad about the state of the economy, regardless of what metrics like inflation/GDP/unemployment or people’s own tenuous grasp thereof indicate!

I'm not talking about economic theory/capitalism being "bad" though, I'm tlaking about the state of the economy we live in and people's day to day lives--which I assume most people answering those polls are also thinking lol. I don't think they're saying "i'm good but the overall economy is bad because capitalism exploits workers and doesn't leave enough for regular people"...well, I'm sure a few people are saying that lol but most folks (IMO) just think about the "vibes" and what they hear about unemployment and inflation and etc. The news keeps talking about people struggling, the economy must be in rough shape! Lots of talk about inflation, it must be high still, if people are struggling they must be out of work, etc. Though I will concede some folks do think those things about capitalism but probably aren't educated enough on the topic to articulate it that way.

Seeing rumours that we may be interested in Jurrien Timber’s younger brother brother, Quentin. Looks good. Technical midfielder with great passing and a good engine, with 7 goals and 9 assists last season for Feyernoord, but hopefully we want him for the right reasons and not to make Jurrien happy.
